WARETOWN – A collision involving a school bus on the Garden State Parkway has resulted in minor injuries to a bus driver, a school aide and three students, according to the New Jersey State Police.
Troopers responded to the crash in the southbound lanes of the parkway at milepost 69.1 in Waretown at 3:09 p.m., said Sgt. Charles Marchan, a State Police spokesman.
The school bus overturned in the left southbound lane and the Lexus ran off the right side of the highway and up an embankment, Marchan explained.
The five people on board were taken to an area hospital for further evaluation, he said.
No other injuries were reported at the scene.
The bus is registered to St. George School Bus LLC in Brick. A manager for the company, Amy Rezk, said she had no information on the crash. The company owner declined to discuss the crash.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation and there was no additional information on Tuesday night, according to the State Police.
